Alexandra Pittman is the Founder and CEO of ImpactMapper, HERO Index, and the wellness retreat center, Havn. She is working with her team and partners on building her vision of an impact data ecosystem that uses qualitative data effectively in coordination with quantitative and financial metics, and that values sustainability and wellness at the personal, professional and institutional levels.
For 17 years, she has worked to fast-forward bold and transformational change in organizations and teams through data and storytelling. Her specializations are in impact metrics development and methodology, gender equality, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), human rights, and advising and coaching and she has expertise in the tech for good, fintech, and data science spaces. She serves as an advisor for multiple philanthropies, impact accelerators, investors and startup companies, and in 2020 was recognized by Entrepreneur Magazine as an innovative tech founder, integrating sustainability and impact into tech products. In 2022, an article she wrote was published and featured in Responsible Investor on the power of equitable AI in philanthropic and impact investment spaces.
Alexandra supports organizations to make better use of their existing research and data on social change and impact, to collect data more efficiently and effectively in the future, and to set up monitoring, evaluation and learning systems, and metrics that matter. She has a PhD in Sociology and Cultural Psychology from Boston College and held a postdoctorate position at Harvard University, researching the role of brand in international nonprofits and philanthropies.
